Bremerton

Spike was able to go to Bremerton last week, a small town on the western shores of Puget Sound.    Bremerton like many of the towns in Western Washington started as a lumber town.  It's seaport was recognized in 1891 as a good place for a US Navy port.  Today you can see several aircraft carriers here, and it once was the home of the USS Missouri where the Japanese surrendered on September 2, 1945.  The USS Missouri is now stationed in Pearl Harbor close to the USS Arizona memorial.
